Strengthening fiat foundations for global growth: A Bit2Me case study

Bit2Me is one of Europe’s most established digital asset companies. Founded in Madrid in 2014, it has grown from a small exchange into a broad ecosystem spanning custody, trading, payments, staking and wealth services – all accessible through its web and mobile apps. Alongside this, Bit2Me Academy has become the largest Spanish-language education hub for crypto, with more than three million students each year.

Regulation has always been central to Bit2Me’s identity. It was the first exchange registered with the Bank of Spain, and in July 2025 became the first Spanish-speaking fintech authorised as a CASP under MiCA – giving it the ability to operate across all 27 EU member states. With a team of 300+ people and triple compliance certification, including ISO standards and independently verified cold-storage security, the company is built on governance and transparency, not shortcuts.

The challenge

As Bit2Me expanded, its fiat operations needed to keep pace. Customers expect EUR and GBP deposits and withdrawals to be fast, reliable and compliant – but delivering that at scale is not easy for a crypto-native company. Traditional banks remain cautious, settlement times can vary widely, and relying on multiple partners across different regions introduces friction and operational risk.

Bit2Me needed a partner able to simplify this landscape: one with strong regulatory credentials, the ability to move funds across SEPA and SWIFT with confidence, and infrastructure capable of supporting high-volume, high-frequency flows without compromising on risk standards or reconciliation discipline.

Relying on several regional banks would only have slowed growth. Bit2Me needed a single point of connection that could bridge fiat payments and digital asset rails smoothly.

Why Clear Junction?

Several factors made Clear Junction the standout choice from the start.

First, the regulatory alignment. As the first crypto exchange registered with the Bank of Spain and one of the first MiCA-authorised CASPs in Europe, Bit2Me needed a partner that could match its regulatory expectations. Clear Junction’s approach to anti-money laundering, sanctions screening and transaction monitoring mirrors the standards expected of MiCA-regulated firms, giving Bit2Me confidence that fiat operations would meet the same level of scrutiny and data integrity.

Second, the technical foundations were exactly what Bit2Me required: direct access to SEPA and SWIFT, multi-currency support, and the ability to use virtual IBANs that bring structure and clarity to customer flows at scale.

Finally, the Clear Junction team already understood the crypto sector – not just the technology, but the compliance nuances that come with it. Their experience working with other regulated crypto businesses meant they were already familiar with the demands of data mapping, detailed reporting, traceability and ongoing supervisory requirements. That depth of understanding reduced integration risk significantly and gave Bit2Me confidence from the outset.

The solution

Bit2Me integrated Clear Junction’s fiat infrastructure into its core platform via a single API, providing access to:

  • SEPA Credit Transfers and SEPA Instant, enabling near-real-time EUR deposits and withdrawals
  • SWIFT connectivity for cross-border fiat flows
  • Virtual IBANs to simplify reconciliation and improve traceability
  • Correspondent account services for institutional payment needs
  • Embedded AML and sanctions screening, reinforcing Bit2Me’s own controls

The project began with fund-flow mapping and compliance alignment before moving into testing. With Clear Junction’s unified API and clear documentation, Bit2Me’s engineers moved quickly from test to production.

The impact

The benefits were felt quickly across the organisation.

Fiat access became dramatically faster – around 90% of EUR deposits now settle within seconds via SEPA Instant, removing one of the biggest pain points for users and giving Bit2Me a far more competitive deposit experience.

Operationally, the changes were just as meaningful. Virtual IBANs reduced manual reconciliation work and gave finance teams clearer visibility over customer flows, which became increasingly important as volumes continued to rise. With stable, predictable fiat rails in place, Bit2Me now has the foundation it needs to support its next phase of expansion across Europe and into Latin America, with Argentina emerging as an early priority market where demand for regulated crypto services is accelerating.

The partnership has also strengthened trust. Bit2Me’s MiCA authorisation, combined with Clear Junction’s compliance tooling and oversight, provides reassurance not only to users but also to regulators and institutional partners who expect a high degree of transparency and control.

In short, the partnership has:

  • Improved the user experience
  • Reduced operational friction
  • Created room for Bit2Me to grow – all while reinforcing the company’s reputation as one of the most secure and well-governed players in the European crypto ecosystem

What’s next for the duo?

Bit2Me continues to roll out new services – institutional-grade custody, enhanced API products, card programmes and wealth solutions. As the business grows, fiat infrastructure will remain a core pillar, and the company expects Clear Junction to play a larger role in supporting that growth.

Future collaboration may involve additional currencies, expanded SWIFT coverage and the selective use of regulated stablecoins to move institutional liquidity more efficiently.

For Bit2Me, having a payments partner built around regulation and reliability means one thing: the fiat foundations stay strong while the business focuses on innovation and global expansion.
